New Exam Structure

What is this “Green Associate” and BC+C stuff? The new exams will be separated into two tiers. First, you take the Core exam to become a “Green Associate.” Once you pass tier I, you may register to take a specialized section (Tier II) exam.

  • Tier I – LEED Green Associate: A general level of knowledge of LEED and green building. This requires only the core exam.
  • Tier II – LEED AP+ : An advanced knowledge of LEED and specialization in a particular field: commercial building design & construction, commercial operations & maintenance, commercial interiors, residential design & construction, and neighborhood development. This tier requires the core exam and one specialty track exam.
